Please use fabric with prints suitable for children ages birth to 18 years. Soft cotton and flannel work best. There should not be any objects sewn onto the items that can come off as they may subsequently become a choking hazard.
Please remember that the recipients of your kindness may already be in a health-compromised state, so to help minimize the risk of infection, please make sure that all materials are new and kept as clean as possible.
We know that material geared more towards boys is harder to come by, but we do have many little boys as our patients, so we appreciate the extra effort it takes to find the material. Some of our Stitchers purchase holiday fabrics
after
the holiday when the fabrics go on sale and either keep the fabric until the holiday next rolls around, or goes ahead and makes the items and sends them to us. We then store them until just the right time!
Items
do not
have to be embroidered. If you choose to embroider, you may want to check out Designs in Machine Embroidery They have graciously dedicated a portion of their site to our Stitch-A-Wish program. You will be able to download free designs of not only the
Cook Children’s
logo, but other designs that have been donated by manufacturers and other sponsors.
